About Kumbha

Kumbha is an air sign ruled by Saturn and a fixed sign. Its symbol is a man carrying a pot (kumbha) of water, pouring it out for others. It is the sign of community, ideals, science, reform and service to the many. It is Saturn's moolatrikona, where Shani works most naturally for the common good.

Aquarius holds the second half of Dhanishta, all of Shatabhisha, the hundred healers, and three padas of Purva Bhadrapada. It is independent, thoughtful and humane, and often unconventional. Its gift is vision for the collective; its test is closeness with individuals.

Nakshatras in Aquarius

Two and a quarter lunar mansions fall in every sign. The filled circles mark the padas, quarters of 3°20′, that lie in Aquarius.

As your Moon sign

Moon in Kumbha

With the Moon in Kumbha, feelings are filtered through ideas and ideals. You care about people broadly, are loyal to friends and value your independence. Intimacy can take time; a cause you believe in and a few close friends steady this Moon.

As your ascendant

Kumbha rising

Kumbha rising gives a friendly but slightly detached presence, often thoughtful and unusual. Saturn rules the chart. You are drawn to science, technology, social work, research or groups, and you often think differently from those around you.
