About Shravana

Shravana lies from 10°00′ to 23°20′ Capricorn and is ruled by the Moon. Its deity is Vishnu, and its symbols are an ear and three footprints, the three strides with which Vishnu measured the worlds. The name means “hearing”: the Vedas were passed down by listening.

This is a nakshatra of learning, listening and connection. It favours teachers, students, counsellors and anyone who carries knowledge from one person to the next. It is classed as movable (chara), favouring travel and movement, and it is highly regarded for beginning study.
