About Vishakha

Vishakha spans from 20°00′ Libra to 3°20′ Scorpio and is ruled by Jupiter. Its deities are Indra, king of the gods, and Agni, the fire, together. Its symbol is a triumphal arch decorated with leaves, or a potter's wheel turning steadily. The name means “forked” or “of two branches”.

Vishakha is the star of single-minded purpose: the patience to keep turning the wheel until the pot is made and the gate of victory is reached. It is classed as mixed (mishra), suited to everyday work and also to fire rituals. Three padas fall in Libra and the last in Scorpio.

Padas and navamsa

Four quarters of 3°20′

Each pada falls in a navamsa sign, used to read the D9 chart and to colour the nakshatra for anyone whose Moon or ascendant sits there.

Born under Vishakha

People with the Moon in Vishakha tend to be ambitious, focused and determined, often with a strong spiritual or social purpose. They set goals and pursue them over years. Patience with the slow parts, and with themselves, brings out the best of them. Their first dasha is Jupiter.
