About Dhanu

Dhanu is a fire sign ruled by Jupiter and a dual sign. Its symbol is the archer, half horse, half human, aiming his bow at a distant target. It is the sign of dharma, philosophy, teaching, long journeys and faith. It is Jupiter's moolatrikona, where Guru acts most naturally.

Sagittarius holds Mula, the root, Purva Ashadha and the first pada of Uttara Ashadha. It is optimistic, frank and idealistic, and it needs meaning. Its gift is vision and generosity; its test is patience with detail.

Nakshatras in Sagittarius

Two and a quarter lunar mansions fall in every sign. The filled circles mark the padas, quarters of 3°20′, that lie in Sagittarius.
